Leopard Moth, another stunner
Great photos. It gave me the run around on Saturday so I only got brief flight views but at one point it looked like it was swallowing a gull chick or duckling as it was flying above Christmas Dell. Took 10 seconds or so struggling with a pair of feet left sticking out of its gape but it was in a bad heat haze and not close at the time so couldn’t be sure what it had. Apparently they do occasionally catch these opportunistically.
